Find A Friend, Save A Life

Does your family need a furry little family member to help brighten up your lives? October is Adopt-A-Shelter Dog month. According the ASPCA, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, only 20-30% of cats and dogs are adopted from shelters and rescue groups.  This means there are 3 to 4 million dogs living in shelters nationwide that would make a wonderful addition to some families.

How can you help support your local shelters? Many shelters are in need of volunteers, cash donations, or supplies. They can always use pet food, leashes, bowls, beds, and toys. Have you ever considered being a foster parent for a dog until it’s placed with a permanent family? How about offering to take pictures of dogs needing adoption and uploading them on pet finder websites in your local community? What a great way to support one’s love for photography and dogs.
