Julie Schafer

Julie Schafer

Julie, company owner,  has been involved with pet rescue for over 30 years and started pet sitting a few years ago. She took over from long time owner, Mary Page, in January of 2017. She is experienced in giving medications to cats, dogs and horses. She has also cared for reptiles, guinea pigs, tarantulas, hamsters and sugar gliders. Julie’s services range from daily feed, exercise and meds, to walks, transport to and from vet appointments and some rehab and training. She lives with her husband and several cats and dogs, varying from a small dachshund to a large mastiff.

Maggie Wise

Maggie Wise

Maggie grew up on a farm with dogs, cats, a pig, a cow, a pet duck, several rabbits, a pet raccoon and two horses. She’s owned numerous dogs over the years from a tiny Pom named Diamond (she returned a pair of diamond earrings because wanted the dog more!) all the way up to a 115 lb. German Shepherd and all sizes in between…Peke, English Springer Spaniel, Sheltie, Beagles, etc. She is very happily owned by Corgi mix Max…who is absolutely the world’s greatest dog! He is 3 parts Corgi and 1 part sneaky neighbor dog. 🙂 Experienced with giving shots and oral meds. Maggie is available for any needs her pet clients might have…walks, medication, transportation to vet or groomers, overnight and extended sits. Maggie is a natural caregiver and spent many years as a caregiver to family members and a friend battling cancer which was very fulfilling but also quite heart wrenching. She says that “Being a pet sitter taps into the natural caregiver side of my personality but is ALL joy!!! 🙂 🙂 :-)”.

Barbara Powell

Barbara Powell

Barbara loves all animals and has had dogs all her life, ranging in size from Terrier to Rottweiler.  She has also been known to take in a stray cat or two.  After she lost her sweet rescue, Angie (pictured), at the age of 15, she knew that she wasn’t ready for another dog of her own, but agreed to sit for a friend’s Collie for 2 weeks.  Realizing that she needed the comfort and companionship of having a dog around, she began sitting for others and now has frequent requests.  Barbara is particularly drawn to special needs dogs and is experienced in assisting with impaired or limited mobility and in giving medications.  Her primary focus is the animals’ health and well-being.  Making them happy is an added bonus!

Meghan Gentry

Meghan Gentry

Since nurturing a runt pup beagle back to health, Meghan Gentry has never stopped caring for, and enjoying the company of pets. She has pet sit for neighbors, coworkers, and friends for the past 12+ years, and has dealt with many different animals and temperaments. She has cared for rabbits, crickets, dogs, cats, fish, turtles, etc.

Meghan has also trained several dogs with basic commands, walking habits, and house training. She cherishes the individuality of each animal and loves to find new and creative ways to meet the needs of each one. Meghan loves to run and is currently working with her mother’s 1 year-old puppy, Copper, to have him run alongside her.
