Wanna be Like Denise Richards?

Then Volunteer Like a Celebrity

We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals. – Immanuel Kant

These days everywhere you turn you can find some awesome celebrity making a difference in the lives of animals. One of the most positive and well known celebrities who has a heart of gold when it comes to pet rescue is Denise Richards.
Denise has always had a soft spot for homeless pups. She was always eager to save them and bring them home. Her Mom was most supportive of her daughter’s kind acts! Denise is so dedicated to rescuing animals that when she decided to remodel her home; she converted her garage into an amazing sanctuary for animals! She created a loving and comfortable atmosphere for her rescues and fosters. You can find beautiful wallpaper, separate stalls to allow for private time for each pet. They are so blessed to have found themselves saved by Denise Richards. Not only does this kind hearted angel step up for the homeless, she fosters as well as adopts and supports many rescues and humane societies. She is an inspiration!

All beings tremble before violence.
All fear death, all love life. See
yourself in others. Then whom can
you hurt? What harm can you do?
 – Buddha

So you wonder what you can do to help? Think you have to be rich or famous to step up and assist in the Animal Welfare World? Think again my friends. There are countless opportunities in which you can make a positive ripple throughout the animal rescue world.

Here a few ways that you can volunteer like a celebrity:

Contact your local animal shelter or humane societies. Ask about volunteer opportunities. Many shelters are overburdened and understaffed. Having volunteers is a lifesaver to the staff as well as the animals. You can bathe, walk, comfort and even play with the animals. You can make their lives a tad more comfortable while they await rescue.

Donate. Rescues always need funds. Find a local rescue in your area. Research carefully and then donate what you can. They don’t just need money either! There is always a shortage of supplies – dog food especially.

Foster. In addition to cash, reliable loving fosters are like gold! By fostering a shelter dog or cat, you are not only providing a loving, stable and stress-free environment while the pet awaits his “fur-ever home”, you are saving him from being euthanized.

Doing “something” is better than doing nothing! Research, reach out and see what you can do. Many times volunteers say they find themselves being changed “fur-ever” when they spend time volunteering. It’s a win- win situation! Not sure where to volunteer in the area? Call us and we’ll connect you with one of our favorite organizations!

Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace.
