Getting Ready for Valentine’s Day?

Coming through the holidays, we had all sorts of ideas for pet gifts and for pet safety. More to the point, we saw that everyone has ideas for these events. Pets are big business. Looking at Valentine’s Day, though, it’s clear that pet owners appreciate the opportunity to show their favorite family members a little extra love. Some of the better lists I’ve seen are from sheknows.com and inventorspot.combecause they had good ideas and because they made me laugh. Some of the gushiest, most romantic prose available is not just about pets but about pets at Valentine’s Day. So, I say, go to it. Go overboard! Nothing you can say about your pet or do for your pet will be over the top in the context of the season. Enjoy it to the hilt! And, as I wrote on my Creature Comforts Memphis Facebook page, beware of chocolates, flowers, and sparkly things within the reach of your pets. They’re attracted to those things, and they can get really sick from them. If you run into problems, call your emergency animal hospital number right away. To prepare, check out the ASPCA poison control page.
